Sanzone Wedding

From the first time I spoke to her, I knew that Emily was my version of an ideal bride. The type of person I will remain friends with in years to come. Emily and Mike trusted me implicitly with the photography of their wedding and were truly excited to have me there. The wedding was in Pottsville, PA. Jennifer Albertini from Mary Kay Cosmetics did an amazing job with the make-up. Emily couldn't get over how beautiful her bouquet was from Pod and Petal,
and neither could I.
This is what the flower girl held.

I loved every little detail. When she put on her dress, she simply looked at the expression on my face and said,
"Thank you". My lower jaw resting on the floor must have said it all.Dad awaits. Seriously, I adored this whole family. We did most of the formal shots in Yuengling Park. Pottsville, the home of Yuengling Lagger.I refer to this as "The Wild Trolley Ride". Jose Cuervo was on board, people were chanting Jose and Sanzone, corks were being popped left and right... It was a wild party and the reception hadn't even started yet! I took a moment and stepped back saying, "How is this my job?" I can't believe people pay me to party with them. BEST job ever. The reception was held at the Schuylkill Country Club.Their favors were donations made to the Make A Wish Foundation, a cause very near and dear to my heart.I swear Emily's sister, Tara, has had drumming lessons because she was a bear on the drums. This just kills me that she was drumming along side of the live band, Mixx. And let me take this time to remind every bride out there how much of a difference a live band can make at your wedding. I see guests get so much more into dancing and interacting.Everyone went wild when Emily's boss got up to play the harmonica.
Then Emily grabbed the mic...And then played the drums with her sister. Never have I seen 3 drummers on one set of drums. This party was off the hook.It was such an honor to be a part of your day and to build a new friendship. I wish the two of you the happiest of lives together. You deserve it!

Boudoirs Are Back!

Awe yeah. They are back again. More boudoirs. Unfortunately I'm not able to reveal her face and stunning eyes, but she is letting me post everything else in the photos. Call today to book a session and take advantage of the boudoir special!I thought this was a great idea.

Her eyes are KILLER in this shot and I think they make the photo, but at least you get the idea.

Does it look like I work for Microsoft?

Not at all in my job description. Saturday I spent the better half of my day replacing a broken laptop screen. Successfully. Sunday, my hard drive wasn't connecting. Spent two hours on the phone with Western Digital troubleshooting. Unsuccessful. This was not a part of the deal folks! Talk about a damper on productivity. I need an IT support team for my business. Enough about that- here are some photos I'm working on today...
These are from our trip to Disney back in April. Looking back at these images has helped to relieve just a little bit of stress from my weekend as a computer repair man.Splash MountainSpectro Magic Light Show.Cinderella's Castle.I love the reflection in the water. Got this printed big for Maya's room. 16x24I think I took a photo with every color of the castle and firework combination - because that's how I roll.

Cirque Du Soleil. Amazing.

Loved the Animal Kingdom.
Maya, not a big fan of the big stuffed animals.

One thing I appreciated about Disney was their attention to detail.A few of the details at Animal Kingdom. That's right, I shot it like the details at a wedding. I roll like THAT too. Safari ride in the pouring rain.

Strangely enough, I think this is my favorite shot from the whole trip.

AJ is a water lover- so we spent some time at Blizzard Beach and here, at the Typhoon Lagoon.

It's fun to look back on good times, especially during times of stress.

Sam

The last couple of days have been a roller coaster of emotions, from frustration, to excitement, and now grief. On August 30th last year I went with my parents to pick up their new puppy, Sam. Some of you may remember the blog I wrote about bring him home. I did these studio shots of him with the kids while he was little, and now they are just about all we have to remember him by. He had been getting into a lot of trouble chewing things up and eating them. I specifically recall that he ate the window light candles off the sills in the kitchen the other week and even ate the electrical chord and glass light bulbs. When my parents took Sam in to be operated on, they found 18 inches of perforated intestine. With heavy hearts, my parents decided to just keep him sleeping peacefully. There was a small chance that he may have recovered by removing the damaged intestine, but were warned that it most likely would NOT be long until they found themselves in the same situation with how much Sam loved to chew things up. Should not be long before I have new puppy photos to share with you because my parents will always have a place in their hearts set aside for the love of a dog.

AJ's First Day

The window was still dark when I heard him fastening the velcro on his sneakers. Moments later he stood next to my bed in his brand new Wall-e shirt and bright orange shorts that I could see even though the sun yet to rise, asking when it would be time to leave for the day. He was completely ready to go before I had even gotten up. Yesterday was AJ's first day of Kindergarten. We dropped Maya off at day care and headed to Letort Elementry School to meet Miss. McCauley for the first time. They do a staggered start, so his first full day will be Thursday. That is when he'll be ridding the bus for the first time.
He started out as Mr. Grumpy Pants refusing to pose for pictures. Sorry buddy. These milestones cannot go uncaptured!

Miss. McCauley is sitting on the left. His first work sheet. Feel the excitement.

I hope to capture a few shots of him getting on the bus for the first time tomorrow. We'll try to find a smile by then.
