XC States 2010

Recently I had the pleasure of shooting the Cross Country States in Hershey for PennTrackXC.com. Here are a few good shots of some amazing runners!

I had an interesting day though. While I was waiting in between races, I heard what sounded like someone falling into the quary next to the bridge where I was sitting. I walked over to see 5 deer swimming. They jumped out right near where I was standing and tried to ram their ways through the fence. Ever see a deer swim? I never had. Sorry it's not the best photo!Later, a deer came running down the trail, came within a few feet of me, scrambled across the bridge then went leaping across the stream. Turns out a deer ran right into a runner and hit her in the face. Wild!
One of the top male runners for the day. Ryan Gil.Congrats to all of the runners!

PennTrack XC Races

Just the other week, I phtoographed for PennTrack XC here in Carlisle for a meet. Here are some of the top runners. You can find the rest of my photos and other coverage here. This was the top female varsity runner for the day. Here is her smile as she looks back at her time crossing the finish line.
Although it rained at the end of the races, I took some shots of the awardees- and this fun shot.

PIAA State Track Meet

This past weekend I photographed the PIAA State Track Meet for Don Rich of PennTrackXC and Mile Split. I had two hot days of photographing lots of different events. It's so great to see these athletes in an ultimate test. Records are broken. And some WEIRD faces and sounds are made.
Here is my alma matter. Hershey.
Unnnhh!
I think I've been spotted!

This was my favorite face. How intense can you be? Every muscle bulging and every vein in your neck popping out.
I also love the contrast of his fave versus his team mate handing off the baton. Too funny.
