July 21st-24th 6-8PM - Photography Classes

These days everyone is a photographer.  Armatures are able to buy quality cameras at relatively low prices.  This has in turn made it hard for professionals to stay in business.  One thing I noticed though, is most people leave their high quality cameras on AUTO settings.  There are very few opportunities to learn how to actually use a digital camera with control.  

I saw this need and responded by offering several classes over the years.  Instead of letting it take me out of business as friends with a camera shoot weddings sometimes for free, I have found a way to grow.

This Monday, July 21st through Thursday July 24th from 6-8PM I will be teaching a class in Hershey for people 15yrs + to help them learn how to use their DSLRs.  

We will be learning settings, lighting, and composition.  This time I am incorporating a few different photo projects as well all over town.  The last class will be spent painting with light- always a crowd pleaser.

New Website- Finally!

I'm always looking for ways to better make my business better.  One thing that I feel has been holding me back is my website.  www.meganzellerphotography.com has not been updated since... oh... maybe 2009.  Embarrassing.  

So I've been spending the last few months creating something that I can be proud of that is a little more up to date that will hopefully better connect me with my customers.

I am still working out the kinks.  Feel free to leave me feedback.

Little Announcement

Andrew and Maya as well as Andy and I have a little announcement that we are excited to share with everyone.  Of course as a photographer, this is how I wanted to announce it.

Andrew and Maya will have a little brother or sister in January!  

 They can not be more excited.  They are already dreaming of bunk beds.

 I will try to keep everyone updated, but not overly informed about my progress.  All of my brides can rest easy- my due date is no where near wedding season.

Harrisburg Baby Photographer- Evelyn

Ah yes.  The time of the year when mass amounts of pollen blow around PA, and along with the pollen comes my busy season.  Soccer teams, weddings, the Joint Ball for the US Army War College, and new interns.  I met with a bride today, worked with Lexie, my newest intern, but most importantly, photographed Miss Evelyn! 

I don't know why I was nervous to photograph a 6 month old.  I was worried either she couldn't sit up on her own, or might be cranky, but Evelyn was a pure joy to photograph.  I think 6 month olds may be my new favorite age group for portraits.

What to Bring to a Boudoir Shoot?

Boudoir bookings are taking off!  I am optimistic about being one of the only female photographers in the area offering high quality, full service, beautiful boudoir photography. Every photo shoot has been a blast.  Being able to show women how absolutely gorgeous they truly are has been awesome.  Women are finally opening their eyes! I wanted to make a post about the biggest question I get: "What should I bring?".

First of all, come with just foundation if you have chosen to have a make-up artist lined up for you that day.  You can also choose to have someone do your hair with your package.

Bring something sexy that isn't necessarily lingerie.

Bring at least one set of matching lingerie.

If you don't have it, don't worry.

Not sure your man will ever notice if it matches or not.

 Jewelry and accessories are important.

They can really add dimension to your photos.

 Maybe a jersey...

 Or clothing of his.

Another great idea is something that has meaning to him.

 I've seen military gear, fire fighting gear, police hats, guitars, and even motorcycles.

A pair of heels and anything else that makes the shoot your own.

 Bring a pair of stockings and a garter.  I think it's one of the sexiest pulled together looks.  I just bought one the other day at Victoria's Secret on sale for just $6 so they are not expensive.

Keep in mind- I emphasize your assets and hide things that may not be.  I also offer to fully retouch all of the images you select for printing and your album so everything is shockingly beautiful.

Jen and Adam- Boiling Springs Lake

The other day I met up with a college friend and did family photos at Children's Lake in Boiling Springs.  I have to say, the shoot could not have gone better- minus the bitter cold. The photos came out BEAUTIFULLY.  It's hard to take a bad photo of Jen and Adam!

 During our shoot, it began to snow.  Timed that out perfectly!

A big thank you to Adam and Jen for coming out all the way from the DC area to have photos done!  I'm humbled that you chose me for your photographer and I hope to see you guys again soon and make a habit out of taking photos of your family!

Wiley Engagement Session- Harrisburg Photographer

I had a blast photographing with these two the other weekend at the Allenberry Playhouse and Boiling Springs Lake.  I'm really excited to be photographing their wedding in September of 2014. 

 We joked around the whole time and Tim never complained about all the photos Ariel and I wanted to take.  Good man.

  On this one, Tim and Ariel laughed at me as I almost got hit by a car.  Really cracked us up.

 The Allenberry, where they will be getting married, has some beautiful spots for photos.
