Happy NFL Draft Day

Today is NFL draft day. My husband is very focused on the draft so we went outside.

AJ did this... And I did this.
Don't worry, this is REALLY what AJ did, no diving...

Happy NFL Draft Day!!

Finally

Does anyone out there realize how stressful it is to photograph your own children as a professional photographer who is a slight perfectionist?
Wednesday night had my heart palpatating.
My parents came over to help with the "situation". At least I can admit that I need help ;)
We each attacked tasks to get everyone ready for the photo shoot. I had to wash my hair and throw a Stouffers veggie lasagna in the oven, Maya needed to eat and stop crying, AJ needed to clean up the front yard of all his toys and he had to play Spiderman on the X-box...
You know, the usual.
Once we were ready we started taking photos...
If anyone is wondering, I got Maya's outfit from Gymboree. Gotta love the Panda in the pocket.

Then all hell broke loose...This was taken just before my poor little girl took a header off the chair. My mom was just to the left of the flowers but didn't catch her in time. My tough little lady came back after tending to a swollen cheek and eyebrow....

Then as I'm holding Maya and a bunny in front of me for a photo of everyone together- AJ points out that the bunny is nibbling on Maya's finger. Her jaw was dropped in full out "bawl mode" and it took her several seconds before she could even make a sound to go along with her cry.

This series of photos followed the animal attack. AJ is so protective of Maya and you can see by his expressions that he was quite displeased with the situation as well.

After all the insane facial expressions, not looking at the camera, wardrobe malfunctions, and injuries, all it takes is just one good shot to make the day worth while.

These are the best smiles I've ever seen out of AJ for the camera.

Megan with Baby Bunnies

Today I took photographs of Megan with the little bunnies. The appoinments are winding down, but if you still really wanted to get photos done, I will be scheduling a few more sessions before people adopt the bunnies.

By the way, all three bunnies still need homes- hopefully not mine after all the photos are done.

Contact me if you would like to adopt a bunny! 717-215-2874 or megan@meganzellerphotography.com

Anyone notice how fat the lop eared bunny has gotten? When do bunnies reach "maturity" if you know what I mean?

Little Miss Megan was so cute- lookin' for bunnies. We got lots of great actions shots today :)

David Brown's Retirement Ceremony

Saturday I had the privelige of photographing Colonel David Brown's retirement ceremony at the Dilsburg Legion. He and his wife Lorie are amazing people. Hundreds of people attended his retirement which shows you how far reaching his glowing personality is. They played a slideshow which illustrated how devoted to his country he is, how much he loves to travel, how much he truely and deeply loves his beautiful wife, and how rediculously silly glasses looked in the 70's through the 90's. What stood out to me most was his sense of humor. He found a way to make everyone roar with laugher at every whitty remark he made. I really had fun, and after experiencing the event, I felt it was an honor to be there to celebrate David Brown as a man and as a soldier defending our country.

Ashley's bunny photos

That crazy fluffy bunny crawled right over Ashley's back- as if HE were the star! Ha.

Gotta love the bunny pillow!

Julie and Mike's Wedding April 12, 2008

This is the first time I've photographed a wedding since I started blogging, so I'm really excited and took this fresh experience to my new blog.
I grew up with the bride, Julie, way back when we lived in the same neighborhood, played with her bunnies, and went to school together at Hershey High School.
I photographed her sister's wedding two years ago and I'm so lucky to be their wedding photographer because both girls picked such beautiful venues to spend their special day.

Julie and Michael got married at St. Joan of Arc and then we rode in a trolly car to visit the bride's grandmother.
The reception was held at the lovely Harmony Hall in Middletown.

I have a lot of photos to share because I just LOVED so many of them. The pond at the reception site was amazing for taking pictures as you can see.

Ah, the perfect dip!

They sure did enjoy all the kissy shots I had them do, and some I didn't have them do ;)

Mike looked so handsome and Julie looked so happy to be with him. He tried so hard all day long to keep her dress clean and out from under her feet. You could see true dedication on his face, and not just to the dress.

I haven't used a texture layer in quite some time, thought I'd whip out the old trick.

What an awesome day.

Thank you two so much for having me there to capture all the happiness that April 12th brought to you and your families. Congratulations Julie and Mike!

Joanne and Ben's Engagement Session- Check out some of my favorites:

Joanne let me know when she met with me about her wedding that she also wanted some straight forward shots of her and her hubby to be. I met them over my lunch break and took some fun shots of them together- did some poses that you can't do in a dress without messing it.

They both have piercing, beautiful, blue eyes. Lucky children.

Somehow, this photo shoot only took us 15 minutes. Amazing.

Show us that rock!

Ben did a great job picking out a beautiful engagement ring. I'll be getting detailed shots of that in November at the wedding :)

Action shot

Crossing these rocks was quite a task until Joanne took her heels off! Ben helped her the whole way.

This was my idea of "straight forward" photos.

Thank you to Ben and Joanne who was leaving the next day to go to Germany for her job! They will be reunited again for their wedding in November.

Celebrating a glorious day- April 10th, 2008

My evening consisted of high heels, pizza, Ritas, and Letort Park. I get spring fever every year and get so excited when it finally gets warm to do things outside again. I'm a pack the day full kind of gal. Today we went and ordered pizza from Papa John's, got some Rita's Italian Ice while we waited, then went to Letort Park. It was totally packed with families just living it up. My camera was in the car so I figured I'd document the outing. AJ was wild but is sleeping so soundly now. Carpe Diem!

A favorite activity of my son's...

Hitting a tree with a stick, or two.

Look Mom.

See how hard I can throw? Andrew starts t-ball tomorrow- I hope to take photos of that one of these upcoming weeks to post those on the blog.

Digging...

for some...

Ants...

"YOU GET OUT OF THERE ANTS!!!!!"

Where're you guys going?

Where are your seatbelts?!

Here is one posted photo for y'all.

"Pose for one photo with your sister or we'll have to leave right now."

Beauty in repetition.

People there must have thought I was crazy lugging around my big camera, taking photos of random stuff- like this.

Sand Angel

Someone needed a bath tonight!!

Olivia checking out my favorite fluffy headed bunny.

This past weekend I moved my studio equiptment to Hershey where my parents live to take pictures for a family. My parents are saints- seriously. They would do anything for me- they helped me transport all my stuff, set it up, then break it back down. I don't think the bunnies like my parents' golden retriever though. Mmmm, bunnies. I will be moving my studio back to Hershey on the 19th of April if anyone wants to make an appointment from out that way!

Carlee giving the bunny some love.

After she gave the bunny some love, she proceded to pick him up by his back and toss him off her lap a good two feet away from her. It was a true love-hate-stayawayfromme relationship.

Bunny photos- I still have appointments available!

Kieran and Riley - probably didn't spell either of their names correctly- sorry mom- correct me in a comment and I'll edit the entry ;)

More

I absolutely loved their matching Easter outfits with the pale orange accent. Riley had the cutest little girl voice as she would shout out that "the bunny is getting away!!!" Kieran was so cute with his sister and wonderfully "lovey" with her. It put a smile on my face. Reminds me why I love what I do.

April 3rd

Here is Landon giving the bunnies a hug.
