Up for anything

Last week I met a family by the creek to do more photos. I like that spot because there are so many angles that can make the photos incredibly different. Not to mention the fact that you're changing people and poses. This couple was fun! They were so sweet and totally up for anything.

Venturing out onto the rocks...

In direct sunlight- you guys know how to not squint like real champs!
Thanks for coming out with me!

Mike and Jenn's Engagement

Jenn, Mike, and I did a lap around the Boling Springs Children's Lake with their two dogs, Bach and Rudy, while stopping along the way to take a ton of awesome engagement shots. The sun was just about to set and the light made the lake and trees look so pretty.
Rudy is on the left, Bachlor is on the right. That's right, I stood in a tree for this shot. I think I actually RAN into the tree several times. I'm always a source of comic relief on my shoots!

This swan would not budge, and I didn't want to try too hard. They have some powerful beaks!
This has to be my favorite for the day- the lighting was perfect under this tree.

This is where I tried to get hit by cars while standing in the street. I litterally couldn't see some of them coming from the sun set!I love how the light dances along to outline Jenn and Mike in this one.

All was calm, until a leaf fight broke out!

Thanks so much guys. I truely had fun taking your photos! And I'm not just saying that :) I can't wait to photograph your wedding next October.

29

Today was all about being pampered. It was my 29th birthday and my mom took me to the Hershey Spa to have lunch and a pedicure, then to the Down Street Salon for a cut, color, and a manicure. There was nothing I had to do for the whole day :) A much needed break.
I rolled out of bed when I felt like it (since my parents came to get the kids last night). The spa was lovely and always makes you feel classy and relaxed when you're there.
I am very pleased with the results of my cut and color at Down Street. Kevin, the owner, cut my hair, while Mary did the color. Totally different and I loved that they both really listened to what I wanted.
I finished pampering with my first ever French manicure at Down Street's nail salon.
We didn't get time to shop, but the pampering was so much more worth it. I've been stressing and getting really sick lately. I felt better and better as the day progressed.
We then ate dinner at Fire Alley where my little secret keeper, AJ, told me they had cake and presents for me back at my parents' house.
What a great birthday!
I'll add pictures soon, this post I couldn't add photos- last one I couldn't add all the photos or text. Issues. Updated versions to follow.

The Background Sweat Shop

Tonight I labored while Charity slaved over making a backdrop that I will need for next week. As if I weren't busy enough, I had to work in a background sweatshop this evening. You wouldn't believe how badly your back hurts after 3 hours of swirling and dabing paint.
This is basically the finished product.
We suffered a few casualties during the event...
The person doing my pedicure tomorrow is going to LOVE this! And no matter how careful I was, the house seemed to suffer some damage as well. I found remnants of paint everywhere.

Tomorrow is my 29th birthday. I'm going to attempt not doing any work!

Family

Since anyone can access the internet, I have chosen to keep the identity of a few of the families I'll be photographing the next couple of weeks a secret. I am working on taking photos for some families to submit to their yearbook- I'll say no more so I can keep the secret. One thing I will tell you is their perfectly posing dog's name is Mufasa. I kid you not, he was looking at the camera for 95% of the time- I think it's because I kept asking if he wanted a treat.
I took photos of the first family today. There was a patch of clouds that moved in perfectly to give us GREAT light.

What a beautiful family.

I think ther son "A" looks a little bit like dad, what do you think?

Thank you for having me out today to take your photos. I really enjoyed trying new ideas with you guys :)

And I'm off to bed! I'm getting pretty sick, but just keep trucking on. There's not much of a choice for me. Family photos, background painting , and puppy raising must go on!

*side note, this did not post until the next afternoon due to an internet error.

Girls Just Want to Have Fun!

All was calm and quiet at the Children's Lake in Boiling Springs on an overcast October morning. That is until the Morgan girls arrived on the scene!
These girls have so much energy :) We ran around, fed some ducks, ran around some more, chased the girls and tried to hold them down for pictures. It was one of those days you just cross your fingers that you'll get some good shots. And boy did we ever. A lot of them were unscripted and not at all how I planned the shot, but sometimes you just gotta let girls have fun!

I just love this one- definately not how I was trying to set the girls up,
but I love it.

My favorite shot of the day- after the session was technically over.

I have more events and sessions to post than there are days in a week. Bare with me, I get sleepy at night when it's "blog time".
Some things I have coming your way: the rest of Jess and Chase's wedding, two more weddings, an engagement session, and TONS of families.

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday I photographed a family who was celebrating their parents' anniversary. I met them at the Fallen Tree Farm Bed and Breakfast. This place was amazing. The scenery was breathtaking. There is a stone foundation that is absolutely beautiful where the owners talked about their plans to host weddings at that location. It has this old ruins look to it- unfortunately I didn't get any photos of it- but hope to one day get to photograph a wedding there.

Best family photo ever- check out the "smarty pants" written on Megan's bottom.
Mom displayed this after Megan refused to take any more photos after about the 4th shot.
How appropriet! The ladies- minus Miss. Smarty Pants. The happy couple. How sweet...Here are some shots around the farm I took after dinner while the sun was setting. I absolutely love photographing for this family. I have done several other events and portrait sessions with them. Their family reunion last year, Mark's promotion to LTC in Gettysburg, and Megan's portraits with the bunnies. I thought it was awesome that they invited my whole family to come enjoy the day with them. As a working mother, it's hard to give away your time with your children even though you're working to financially secure their present and future. To be able to share the night with them was a true gift. The Vineys are such a loving family.
The kids decorated and carved pumpkins.
To end the evening, we made smores. Doesn't get much better than that!

Thanks guys for making me feel like part of family yet again.
