Peter and Rebecca met at Dickinson College, where they returned to be married several years later. It was a very romantic setting and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day for taking pictures. I started with the girls getting ready at the chuch where there was this big beautiful window. Outside the church, on Dickinson campus, we took formal photos outside of Rebecca's old dorm. One of my favorite subjects of the day- Addyson.
The boys.
I'm in love with this picture!

The Dickinson girls.
Rebecca's sisters put on a show like no other. Funniest thing ever. A remix of several popular song accompanied by some very good dancing- like Barbie Girl (lol)- entertained us all.
My award for craziest dancer I have EVER had the pleasure to photograph goes to this man here seen dancing to Soldier Boy. There is only one dancer I know that is more out of control- me. I only hope I can be as envied by my kids when I get older.
The whole Dickinson crew.
Peter and Rebecca, I wish you great of happiness in the upcoming years!

My Outer Banks Vacation

The last time I went to the Outer Banks, we braved a hurricane. This year I had a MUCH better time. We spent just about every day on the beach and in the waves and would usually follow up with a swim in our pool. We rented a house in Duck that was right on the beach.
It was relaxing and I even got to read a whole book! I did bring my camera though to take some quality shots of my cousin and her family as well as the kids.

My cousin's daughter, Emma.
Amy and her family.

Amy so kindly took a photo of us too. The kids really had fun together. Maya spent most of her time eating (and pooping) sand.

This should be on some sort of Hallmark card.

This was the moon on our last night there. This is one of those things you just can't photograph with a point and shoot.

The sunrise the next morning was pretty awesome as well. I shot that on my mom's point and shoot though. I'll try to remember to post more when I get photos from her.

Little Sophia

I've been on vacation for a while and I'm so proud of myself, I didn't bring my laptop with me. My Outer Banks photos will come later, but for now, I have some catching up to do with all the photos I've been taking.
On June 30th 2007, I photographed Owen and Hillary's wedding. A year and a few months later, here I am with the honor of taking photographs of their family and new little baby Sophia. As I grow in my business I realize that this will start to happen more and more- at least I hope it does- where I take photos of someone's wedding and then of their family as it grows over the years. Makes my job just that much more awesome!

Little Sophia was beautiful with a full head of dark hair- enough to need a clip :)

The new White family.

This is now one of my favorite baby photos of all time.

I'm so happy to have had a second oportunity to photograph this great couple with their new addition and hope to have more oportunities in the future!

The Simpson Family

On Sunday morning I went out to Boiling Springs Lake and met Jeb, Sherry, Tristan and Kohen for some relaxed family portraits. I've never seen so many smiles! I really enjoyed my time with them as we fed the wild life of the lake. They are a totally relaxed and happy family. I hope that I get more oportunities to work with them. Thanks for making my job so easy guys! The Simpsons are also the first victims of my Totally Rad Actions- I love the one above-
Rusty Cage.

Big blue eyes.

And a touch of drool. This is a picture of Kohen and Tristan yelling out my name after I asked them who the best photographer in the world was. Okay, not really- they were just excited by all the attention they were getting.

The month of September is pretty free for me- no weddings- so if you want to schedule family photos, I suggest getting an appointment soon before I get booked up. Fall is coming and the leaves around here are awesome. 717-215-2874 or megan@meganzellerphotography.com

Ella's 1st Birthday

Growing up I had a very best friend with whom I did everything. Until age 6 we took dance classes together, we cut our hair together, got lost selling candy together, rolled in poison ivy together- we were inseperable.
We have since then drifted in and out of each others lives through college and marriage until a little less than a year ago I found out that she had a daughter about 3 weeks after I had mine. (Ironically, Joy is about three weeks older than me.) This has given us something to email back and forth over constantly- sharing joys and frustrations of the first year.
I was really excited to find the Ella's first birthday party was going to be on August 3rd because I had nothing booked that afternoon- and a free afternoon is hard to come by.

I really had a blast while I was there. I'm so comfortable with her family- it felt like I had never moved away. Here is a photo with grandpa.
A little one year portait session. You're workin' that dress! Isn't she cute? Sorry, I picked photos without drool to post. Maybe next time...Maya, this is Ella's party, not yours stinker!
The family.

I offered to take their photo while they had everyone together- take advantage of me bringing my big camera :)

I was tired at the end of the day, but it was worth the drive down to Shrewsburry. Happy first birthday Ella!!

I'm excited to announce that recently I purchased "the best actions of the year" - the Totally Rad Actions composed by Doug and Chenin Boutwell. In the past I have done retouching and given photos different looks through sepia, b&w, and my favorite- an action called glamour blur that I got from a free Photoshop action site.

According to me, the set of actions I just bought will drastically beautify the photos I enhance. I get really excited when I think about the 46 different affects I can apply to images. I can't wait to debut some creations :) The three photos below and a sale on the actions are what prompted me to make the purchase. I resisted buying actions because I figured I can do my own Photoshop work. However, once you see what can be done with these actions, you realize you can't do it all by yourself.

Rae Leytham is a photographer from Pensicola and uses the Totally Rad Actions and highly recomended them.

Her work is just amazing. The actions make the photos soft but keeps the people sharp- I love it. Stay tuned for my new look...
