Wednesday night had my heart palpatating.
My parents came over to help with the "situation". At least I can admit that I need help ;)
We each attacked tasks to get everyone ready for the photo shoot. I had to wash my hair and throw a Stouffers veggie lasagna in the oven, Maya needed to eat and stop crying, AJ needed to clean up the front yard of all his toys and he had to play Spiderman on the X-box...
You know, the usual.
Once we were ready we started taking photos...
If anyone is wondering, I got Maya's outfit from Gymboree. Gotta love the Panda in the pocket.
Then all hell broke loose...This was taken just before my poor little girl took a header off the chair. My mom was just to the left of the flowers but didn't catch her in time. My tough little lady came back after tending to a swollen cheek and eyebrow....
Then as I'm holding Maya and a bunny in front of me for a photo of everyone together- AJ points out that the bunny is nibbling on Maya's finger. Her jaw was dropped in full out "bawl mode" and it took her several seconds before she could even make a sound to go along with her cry.
This series of photos followed the animal attack. AJ is so protective of Maya and you can see by his expressions that he was quite displeased with the situation as well.
After all the insane facial expressions, not looking at the camera, wardrobe malfunctions, and injuries, all it takes is just one good shot to make the day worth while.
These are the best smiles I've ever seen out of AJ for the camera.

My goodness it amazing how much better children do as time progresses. I remember just last year you trying to take pictures of AJ with the ducklings and how difficult it was. He did so good, brillinat pictures. Maybe you should ask a friend, who happens to be a photographer to help take the pictures next time, might take some stress off of you. ;)
