The other week, during a winter warm spell, I went out with Kyle and Elizabeth to do engagement portraits along with Elizabeth's little girl, Leah.

I loved photographing Leah, she was full of sass.

Well done on the ring Kyle, WELL DONE!

It wasn't easy to get Kyle to smile, but I was ready on the trigger when he did.
 I love this one.
 and this one
We were finished the session when we realized the train was about to go by, so I took just a few more shots. The graffiti added and unexpected yet cool element to their shoot.  This I think is my favorite shot.
Photos from Elizabeth and Kyle's wedding to come... (their wedding day was a blast!)

Las Vegas Educational Purely Business Adventure

Big changes are going to happen for Megan Zeller Photography. Noticable changes, as well as behind the scenes, that I hope positively impact my clients.

This past week I made the decision to attend the Wedding and Portrait photography trade show, WPPI, in Las Vegas to help improve my business. I arrived on Thursday and my first class was on Sunday night, so clearly I was in Vegas for just business. This was my first time in Vegas. My kind of town. The trade show was great. I was able to hunt down a printer so I can print photos onsite for events which is one big change for me that I hope helps my business grow and makes my clients happier. Speed is king in the digital world.I got to see which products are big this year. Prints on metal are HUGE. HUGE! This is mural and it's so modern and stunning! One of the benefits of attending WPPI is meeting people you've been following the careers of for years. This is Joel from Drop It Modern, a trendy background company that is just exploding in the photography business. The first class I attended was put on by the Boudior Divas. They brought the boudoir craze back and are hugely successful. These girls are an inspiration to me not just for their photography but also for what they are doing to empower women. As if I didn't freak out enough meeting Kimmy and Marissa, going to Jasmine Star's talk was business changing. I definately had some "ah ha" moments about branding. This is another area in which I'm going to make big changes. Stop branding myself as a hot mess and start getting organized, motivated, and put my whole heart in this passion on mine. This is J*'s husband, JD. Give credit where credit is due- he is also an AMAZING photographer and shoots weddings with Jasmine.I took classes on business and marketing as well. Learned how important setting deadlines is and that multitasking drops your IQ by 30 points.

The last class I took was on how to print and sell photos at events. This is where I met Terrell Lloyd. He photographs for the San Francisco 49ers. Wouldn't shooting for the NFL be the freaking most amazing oportunity?! He said it's a difficult field to enter, so for now, I'm going to still to weddings and portraiture ;)There were so many awesome parties hosted by Sony, Cannon, and individual photographers with loud music and talented DJs. I was so tired by the time the conference started and happily embraced my switch over to "business mode" as I called it, that I barely attended any of the parties......all thanks to this town.
